Description

Goldenrod was originally only open to hikers, but with the new trail expansion in 2026 now allows mountain bikes for uphill traffic only. The first mile or so is a bit tough for bikes, with tight switchbacks and a big rock staircase that will result in hike-a-bike. Once past the stairs, the trail is a pretty mellow climb overall, with a brief steep section of doubletrack, but nice views. It allows you to extend your overall mileage at the park.
