An easy 10-mile loop that visits the historic Wimple Cabin while winding through the woods on a quiet, seldom traveled road. Seeing another rider or even being passed by a car on this road is a rare occurrence. Perfect for a quiet weekend ride or bringing the family along.

A nice flowy gravel road with only moderate inclines and a lot of down hill and level terrain. Start on Clark's Pk Road (27N04) and head slightly downhill and take the first right on Wimple Rd (27N46). Follow the road down a gentle descent until you can take a left on Wimple Tie Rd (27N61).

About a mile down the road, be sure to stop at the Wimple Cabin sitting in a small lush meadow. Get back on Wimple Tie Rd and start a gentle incline until you can make a Right on Wimple Cross Rd (27N35). Follow this road up until it turns into Clarks Pk Rd at a small spring at a T intersection. Take a left up Clarks Pk Rd (27N04)and follow it back to your starting point.

The Wemple cabin, (Often spelled Wimple) is tied to the pioneering Wemple family, prominent early settlers of neighboring Lassen and Plumas counties who established ranches, timber claims, and trails throughout the region in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

Like many historic cabins tucked away behind the Thompson Peak area, it originally served as a seasonal base for cattle ranching, line riding, or early US Forest Service patrol routes navigating between the high desert edge of Susanville and the rugged Sierra Nevada meadows.
