Description
This is the final 3.5 mile segment of the larger
Middle Ridge Trail system that has been primarily volunteer built over the last 20 years. This segment begins on
Middle Ridge Road (Forest Rd. 801) between
Teaberry Rock Trail and Alligator Rock Trail. Climbing the hill from the front, it is on the left. This segment is machine built and is fast. The trail runs along the ridge top for the first 1.5 or so miles and then begins descending until running along a bench on the hillside and popping out on
Middle Ridge Road (Forest Rd. 801). Turn right down the hill and about 50 yards later, look left. The trail exits the road on the left and then runs below the road before again terminating on
Middle Ridge Road (Forest Rd. 801) about .2 miles up from the gate.
B-lines, rock rolls, and jumps/drops lines are interspersed throughout the segment. The segment below the road is narrower and steeper than the rest of the trail segment. The trail is bi-directional and climbs well, making a good uphill alternative to the road for those who prefer a singletrack climb.
