Need to Know
If you Park at nearby Alder Park or VIX Ranch Bike Park to start and finish your ride, the bottom of this trail is just a couple of minutes of pedaling away from your parking spot.
The top portion of this trail is located on private land owned by RG Lakota Holdings, with a Trail License Agreement granted to the Town of New Castle for public access. Thank you for reading all posted signage and respecting the rules of the trail.
Description
Accessed at an intersection with
Lookout Trail and
Ole' Roller, this downhill flow trail serves as a bike only exit for your ride on the trail network north of New Castle. While the trail has a wide and smooth tread, there are a few steep berms and gravity whoops to enjoy or navigate, along with table top jumps, and a couple of hip jumps. As always with this kind of trail, pre-ride, & re-ride, to learn the trail's features... before you gather full speed for your free-ride!
The trail winds down a steep gully alignment through pinion and juniper trees, just to the east of
Colorow Trail East and ends in the sage meadow near the bottom of
Colorow Trail East. For a shorter loop ride, you could climb up most of
Stairway to Heaven, but then (below the 'dirty dozen switchbacks') cut off onto
Colorow Trail East, and use
Ole' Roller to find the top of this trail.
The trail is named for Adam Cornely, in recognition of his style of getting so many favorite local trails approved, funded, and built for his community, while volunteering with RFMBA and New Castle Trails.
