Need to Know
The originally posted Outie trail reflects the original two-way classic gully rut alignment that has been closed as of 2025.
Description
Accessed by climbing up the recently improved
Innie trail, this once-upon-a-time, classic rutted gully trail... is now a modern, fast flow, downhill only, ripper of trail. While the new trail closely dollar signs the original trail alignment in many places, the flavor from top to bottom has been upgraded to include bermed gully walls, and a handful of fast jump features. Distinct from other downhilll flow trails in this trail system, the focus here is on speed.
About 7/8 of the way down, an intersection on your right offers a short and steep hike-a-bike on the
Outie - Buckhorn Cutoff trail, up to an intersection with
Buckhorn.
While your focus will be on the trail, you'll encounter the classic range of Crown flora: sage fields at the top an middle, service berry bushes in the tightest portion of the gully, mature oak brush stands in the bottom half, and finally pinion and juniper as you speed along the lowest part of the trail. As always, pre-ride, re-ride, before you let go of your brake levers for a full free-ride drop dow the full Outie trail!
