Overview

This loop has amazing views of the Up Valley area all the way to Aspen. A couple of fun sections, including the Vasten Trail downhill, bring this loop to a full, fun, well-rounded circle.

Need to Know

Restrooms at the base of the Prince Creek Trail, and at the Hooks Spur Parking lot.

Description

Start at the top of Christmas Tree and follow South Porcupine to Skill Saw (Lower Creek Side), then take the road to Next Jen and Dinkle Link, arriving at the scenic top of the Crown.

Follow BLM Road 8320 until the top of Vasten Trail, passing a couple spots with amazing views of Mount Sopris and Up Valley.

Follow Vasten Trail until Buckhorn Traverse, and take Buckhorn Traverse around to the top of Outie. Outie will drop you at the end of North Porcupine, and you'll soon be back at the start point at the top of Christmas Tree.
