Description

Woodcutter's Trail is a wide forest fire road, which in this direction is an easy fun ride downhill under the shade of the redwood trees.

There are very few hazards, other than slightly steeper portion as you approach the 1.5 mile mark so makes it suitable for newer riders or families, and is often used as a climbing trail in the opposite direction (plenty of room to pass - although remember to ride right, particularly on corners!) - typically from riders who have descended on Tachycardia for example.

On reaching the bottom, the trail emerges onto the paved road Smith Grade which is a long climb up to Empire Grade, but not overly strenuous.
