There is a restroom at the Prairie Dells trailhead. No trail pass is required. The best time of year to ride this trail is late July thru March. In the spring, a couple portions of the trail are very wet. Trail conditions are updated at least weekly on Trailbot.

Trail is best ridden clockwise and can be started at either trailhead parking lot. From the Prairie Dells trailhead, take the Gateway trail north to Heinemania which begins just before Heineman Road. From the South Underdown trailhead, Heinemania begins just south across Heineman Road. Heinemania is machine built trail with some flow and couple of climbs. The High Ridge overlooks south over the Prairie Dells Loop with the best views occuring in April and October. The trail joins the Prairie Dells Loop on the Marsh View side after crossing a dike on the Manthei Marsh. During winter months, the trail is groomed for fat tire biking.
