Need to Know
There is a user fee. Check the kiosk for additional information. Restrooms are on the east end of the parking lot. Camping is available onsite. From Memorial Day weekend to the end of September, there is a handpump available for water. The area is popular with equestrian users who have their own trails.
Description
The trailhead is located on the west end parking lot off of Copper Lake Road. The first mile segment will pop out on Loop Road, a dirt road which you want to head south (left) for 0.1 miles before rejoining
Main Course. There are several trail hubs on the route. Plenty of hills to climb as it crosses the Ige Age National Scenic Trail several times.
The route takes locals about 1.5-3 hours to complete. The Dog Lake Shelter is at mile 3.4 and is a great place to stop and have a snack. The route is doable after repeated days of rain, but avoid the wooden features if wet. The features with GripStrips installed can be ridden when wet.
