Description

This trail, that flows behind the estate's main house, has a tunnel-like feel, and in the spring is booming with mountain laurels and rhododendrons. It's the most fun way to connect the South Carriage Loop with the Phillips Loop in the adjacent JC Philips property. Before diving into the woods, if heading in from the south, the trail goes near a formal garden and tea house, along with the estate's main house that was built in the late 1800's. Overall, this property was only recently opened to the public, in spring of 2024, after the Trustees of Reservation, the City of Beverly, Essex County Greenbelt Association and others purchased the land to protect it in perpetuity.
