Need to Know
This line is extremely difficult when there hasn't been much moisture in the area. This trail is best ridden the day after a rainstorm or in the winter when the melting snow provides enough moisture.
Description
This trail is
Brown Town's evil big brother! 47 Degrees trail is extremely steep with drops and high potential for injury. It's called 47 Degrees for a reason! This is likely the steepest and most difficult trail at Lefthand canyon.
47 Degrees starts off of the
Lower Ridge Trail on the opposite side of
Deadass. The trail initially starts off with steep terrain and into a 2' drop from a log. The trail continues with a sharp right turn and into slightly less steep terrain (only for a brief moment). After that the terrain steepens with some rocky chunder with a few more steep turns. After those few steep switchbacks, there is a steep straight hill that you can bomb down, barely missing the small tree on the right. Just a couple of steep switchbacks later and you are cruising to finish off on moderate terrain with a couple of doubles! Hang a right on Baughman's Gully trail to get back to the main climbing trail.
