Need to Know

The creek crossings are usually dry but can quickly become engorged with rapidly flowing runoff following rainstorms or in the rare event of a winter with substantial rainfall.

Description

This short, spicy out and back experience begins at McMillan Campground. The first half of the trail is a relatively easy, moderately technical climb through the forest. The initial section is accented by a few dry* creek crossings, roots, and rock gardens.

The trail will eventually become significantly steeper and more technical until it ends at a T junction with what looks like an unsanctioned trail that leads you on a scramble through the rocky cliffs above. At that point, it is essentially impossible to go any further with a bike and doing so, would require scrambling along sections of game trail. However, you'll be treated to a quick, spicy ride back down to the campground.
