Description
This trail is shown on the Scottsdale map as the Dixileta Trail and the 118th St trail, but since they connect end-to-end, and there is nowhere else to go at their junction, they are described here as one trail.
The Scottsdale map is here:

Starting at a walk-in gate on 136th St. The starts as a singletrack before widening into a wide former-road on the Dixileta Rd alignment. The trail gains elevation as it travels west towards the divide between the Verde River drainage and the Cave Creek drainage. For part of the way, the trail parallels a fence into a golf course where wimps driving golf carts can be seen.
Arriving at the high point of the trail, there is a 90° turn to the right along the 118th St alignment. This former road travels up and down as it heads north to terminate at
Powerline Road #2. Multiple connecting trails fan out from this location to continue the ride.
The only obstacles along the trail (besides the elevation gain) are a few patches of sand and erosion ruts along the road.
This trail could be part of any number of loop options in the preserve.
