Dogs Leashed
Description
Goose is a two-way multi-use trail. So, users may encounter a variety of other trail users along the way. Downhill lovers will prefer riding south to north. Conversely, climbers will enjoy the workout that riding north to south will provide. It's most fun to start in the south near the pavilion from the crushed limestone section of
Watch Your Six.
Goose starts by riding through the butterfly sculpture made out of bike parts. It passes through the skills park and one can pick whichever options are one's favorite before the trail passes the Strider pump track. Follow the trail between the trees and the crushed limestone trail and it turns left, passing the south side of the main pump track before briefly intersecting
Watch Your Six for about ten feet. Keep left, going downhill, toward the berm and you'll be on the right route.
This is the steepest portion of Goose and downhillers will enjoy the flowey back and forth action from the berms. It isn't quite as steep as the elevation profile may suggest. So, climbing north to south is not too difficult thanks to the builder making the climb more mellow with some creative dirt work.
Continuing the ride from south to north, the trail has and overall gentle descent. Due to the extreme hillside that Goose is built upon, a few bermed blind turns require one's full attention as this is a two-way trail.
The trail ends as it climbs slightly in a berm to the right. Immediately following is the intersection with
Watch Your Six. Turning right will lead back to the top of the hill. Turning left presents a number of options. One can ride
Watch Your Six to the gravel and get on
You Betcha uphill to the top or downhill to Highland Avenue or MacArthur Drive. One can take the gravel to the pedestrian bridge or turn left, immediately before the gravel and ride
Watch Your Six to the pedestrian bridge.
