Description

Deerpath is new for 2022 and signposted as a Blue rated trail, although there are very few challenging hazards, other than a handful of tighter switchback turns and some minor exposure.

It essentially follows the route of what was the old 'Bill-e-goat" [uphill/e-bike] trail on the Northstar map, but is now DOWNHILL ONLY, and an excellent alternative way to descend all the way back to the main village/gondola station.

Deerpath starts towards the bottom of updated The Woods trail, dropping downhill to the right at a junction which is marked with a wooden finger post. The majority of the trail is 'natural' terrain, more soft and loamy than the majority of the hard-packed trails at Northstar, and feels much more like an 'adventure' route than a traditional downhill park run.

Together with riding the majority of the new The Woods route to begin, this makes for a nice long continuous descent from the top of the Vista Express lift all the way to the bottom of the mountain/gondola station - just under 4 miles in total.
