One Way Only: This is designated as a directional trail.
Description
Hay Loft is technically a connector trail but its difficulty needs space for a good description. It can be accessed from three different trails and angles near the
Crushed Limestone Trail. The best approach is from the tall takeoff ramp on
Chimneys. The large steel structure is impossible to miss and is the real start of this line.
Pedal up to the top, calm your nerves, and look for riders that could interfere. The takeoff ramp is steep and blends into a berm above the feature. The last few feet of the climb out from
Chimneys shares this berm but climbing riders approaching will easily be seen. When clear, drop in and launch off the big box jump and fly over the climbing trail to the generous landing ramp.
The trail curves to the right in a banked turn where one can slow down enough before the intersection with
Chimneys. If riders come into the intersection too hot, it's okay because there is ample sight line at this flat part of the trail. Either way, riders can then go back up using the climb out of Cimneys that passes through the gap of the Hay Loft.
