Description

A fast and flowy 1.5-mile trail re-alignment of the lower section moves the trail onto USFS land away from the houses on private property. Recent changes include improved turns, better drainage, and some new OTF (Optional Trail Features).

Users can ride this trail as an "up & down" from Steve Canyon Rd. or shuttle the 10 mi from the lower parking area on Soda Creek Rd. up Little Bear Creek Road to the parking area along Hwy 103 just above Echo Mtn Ski Resort.

GETTING THERE: Upper TH w/ parking located on Hwy 103 above Echo Mtn Ski Resort. Lower TH on Steve Canyon Rd with parking/shuttle/loading on Soda Creek Rd at pullout just before Little Bear Creek Rd or at intersection of Soda Creek and Steve Canyon Rd. No Parking on Steve Canyon Rd at trailhead.

Very chunky up top. Steep enough that you'll be riding brakes. Not my favorite. Lower "new" section flowy but switchback heavy. A couple big drops.

I rode halfway up from the bottom. Definitely a DH trail-focus. Climb up is steep and consistent. It's been worked on recently but trees on the trail 5mi — 1h 10m
