Description

Corona Trail is best ridden counter clockwise but others seem to like clockwise just as much. Access this trail via the Marauder Trail (counter clockwise) by parking at the upper parking lot. You can also park at the Guy Dooley Trailhead to start clockwise.

While on Marauder Trail, you'll pass a cemetery on your right. Continue past the cemetery and cross two 4-wheeler paths. After a couple hundred feet, take a sharp right to begin the Corona Trail. (If you cross a third 4-wheeler path, you've gone too far and will continue riding on Marauder Trail.)

Easy pedaling brings you to a fun small section of trail with a nice berm. Continue along to a wooden creek crossing. You'll cross the power line right-of-way. Another creek crossing and a short punchy climb brings you to yet another fun downhill-trending section of trail with two amazing rock gardens called "Hellbender" and "Serpentine."

After the second rock garden, you'll have another short punchy climb. Continue on to "Lollipop Rock" or take the bypass if you're not feeling up to the challenge. After "Lollipop Rock," you'll enter the "V Slot" with a rock culvert creek crossing. Another climb to some easier pedaling takes you across the 4-wheeler path. Continue on across the 4-wheeler path once more for another descent.

At the bottom of the descent, you can enter the "skinny playground" or bypass it by taking a hard left. If you're up for the challenge, continue straight to the "Devils Backbone" rock garden and then four wooden skinnies.

Easy pedaling and three 4-wheeler crossings brings you to the power line right-of-way again. Cross the power line for a few fun jumps and a short easy climb. Once at the top, you'll cross another 4-wheeler path and begin your descent to the bottom. At the bottom, you'll take a left on an eroded 4-wheeler road and cross a big creek. Stay straight and you'll come to the fifth and final skinny.

A short pedal brings you back to the Guy Dooley TH or continue on Marauder Trail to get back to the upper parking lot.
