Features Views

Mountain bikes and 4-wheel-drive vehicles are allowed in the park on the backcountry roads. In order to protect yourself and the surrounding ecosystem, mechanical travel is restricted to established roads. Tracks on open desert can remain for years and damages the desert ecosystem while tarnishing the experience for subsequent visitors. Off-road vehicles and all-terrain vehicles may not be used in the park.

Description

The dirt roads in Covington Flat provide access to a number of the park's largest Joshua trees, junipers, and pinyon pines.

From the parking area at the Covington Flat backcountry registration site, head north on the Lower Covington Flat Road, looking for the first left onto Covington Flats Crossover Road. Eureka Peak is 3.8 miles (6.2 km), one way.
