Description

The first two miles criss-cross back and forth across the broad gravels of Cottonwood Creek. Some entries and exits can be challenging. Eventually, the trail begins to parallel the east side of the creek, with some of the most managable sections before dropping down to the junction with East Fork Cottonwood Creek. There are a couple of obscure signs at this junction but go left and begin the trek up the East Fork. Here begins the significant deadfall and route-finding difficulties. Much of the trail beyond this point is not rideable and riders may do best to stash their bikes somewhere near the intersection and hoof it the rest of the way. Be wary of game trails to nowhere and

Looking north at the out-of-place bridge over grass. A very surprising but quite odd sight after miles of wandering. It appears relatively new and well-constructed yet totally unnecessary.
