Overview

Rolling terrain provides you a great view of wetlands, waterfowl, and rolling hillsides of oak while following the one-way directional loops.

The terrain varies from flat to the south and rolling to the north. There is one significant climb on the east side of the park.

Description

Recommended start point here is Northern Woods parking lot which has flush toilets and a picnic area. Alternate similar start point can be at the end of McHenry Dam Road on the Fox River Trail loop.

Take a break at a number of scenic wildlife viewing platforms/overlooks.
