Need to Know

At km 1, in a long U-turn to the left, the much harder Naranch Trail: The Middle Singletrack (part of Naranch-Trail: difficult S4) branches off. If you like it steeper and harder take this one.

Description

The first km of this trail belongs to the upper part of Naranch Trail.

Starting at the shoulder south of Monte Creino (elev. 1.115 m, called "Gole"), take the trail ("Sentiero Gole") to the west. Its width is more singletrack than doubletrack.

This trail was created during the first World War as a mule path and so it isn't too small or too steep and the bends are flowing. The last meters are used by tractors (doubletrack).

Follow this trail down to the flat meadows and fields of San Rocco (elev. 840 m). There you'll join Varano-Naranch-Road, a small paved road.
