Overview

This route takes about an hour to ride but it's great for new riders/intermediate as it has some challenging ascents and technical descents that keep you on your toes. High traffic out and back.

Need to Know

Cattle often present make sure to close gates and respect the animals. Parking fees assessed. Busy and parking limited but connects to many close trailheads.

Description

Easygoing trail that has a killer little hill right at the beginning that gets the heart going. The start of the downhill is a moderately steep drop with technical aspects leading into the valley. Many shaded areas along the back side are nice during ups and downs (pretty rocky and many large roots).

The last section back to the parking lot is a nice speedy casual ride to cool off and enjoy a few minor little jumps.

Great ride for someone's first blue. Beautiful views, decent flow, enough tech to challenge a beginner but not completely discourage them.

I took a wrong turn on doudy draw after completing the loop, leading to a long backtrack uphill. This is my first ever trail, too. 10mi — 2h 00m
