Overview

Starts and ends at a parking area, returning on the main road, or you could backtrack on the Cottonwood Trail.

Description

Starts off on the wide, paved River Birch Trail then turns into a sandy singletrack on the Cottonwood Trail, continuing all the way down the river to and short connector on the Beaver Dam Trail. Here, you enter a swampy area on the Wetlands Trail and Highlands Trail. Coming out of the swamp, there is a large bridge over the marsh on the Boardwalk Trail before you get back on the singletrack Cottonwood Trail to another trailhead/parking area and take the road back to the start point.

History & Background

A conservation area in the middle of the suburbs.
