Family Friendly Gentle rolling terrain, a wide path, and easily accessed with two wheel drive vehicles - a great beginner trail.

Description

The Ridge Trail is a wonderful, easy, wide trail winding through lush aspen and evergreen forest. It's a great way to escape the Grand Valley heat in the summer, as it follows the highest broad ridge of Pinon Mesa.

It's the easiest way to access the Black Pine Trail #647 and Haypress Downhill #662.

If you continue on the trail, it also connects with 16 1/2 Road, as it used to be an old jeep trail. The recommended use of this trail is as part of a loop formed by the Black Pine Trail #647 and 18 Rd back to the parking lot, about 6.5 miles. Don't forget to smile.

More mud holes. This ones too deep to go through. Most of the trail is pretty dry except for a few spots like this.

There are still plenty of mud holes to contend with in the middle of summer!
