Dawson Forest is closed to mountain bikers and equestrians the first week in August. Riding is not allowed during firearms deer hunting days and not before 10:00 a.m. during deer archery and spring turkey hunting days or anytime the main gate is closed.

Description

This gravel forest road connects the northern and southern portions of the Dawson Forest trail network and portions of the Blue Trail follows it for short distances. The main feature is a 25 foot crossing (1-2 feet deep typically) of Shoal Creek at the 3.4 mile mark. Shoal Creek Road ends at the paved Northgate Road.
