A scenic loop with some fun, short technical sections especially the sidle in to Dry Creek.

Need to Know

As usual in this area carry plenty of fluids.

Park at the Thunder Mountain trailhead and ride west on Thunder Mountain Rd then right up Dry Creek Rd to the start of Two Fence Trail. Roll down Two Fence Trail enjoying some of the small technical features before branching left on Girdner Trail.

Follow Girdner, then angle right on to Rupp Trail. The profusion of trails in this area can be confusing even though trails are well signposted. Check on the MTB Project mobile app to make sure you turn the correct way at intersections.

Rupp intersects Coxcomb Trail which you follow until throwing a left at the start of Outer Limits. Note: Western Civilisation which is shown on the printed trail map crossed private land and has been superseded by Outer Limits.

Once on Outer Limits, the trail has a few small climbs before it descends a couple of switchbacks to cross Dry Creek. There is some exposure and small technical features as the trail sidles into Dry Creek. A short, steep pinch out of the creek starts the gradual climb up to Highway 89A at Cultural Park Place. Follow the highway east down the hill then left at the traffic lights up Dry Creek Rd then right on Thunder Mountain Rd back to the trailhead.
