Need to Know
I've seen a few bears over the years on
Northern Boundary and
Green's Lick can be pretty gnarly if you take the most difficult routes down the mountain.
Description
From the calm doubletrack ascent of
Northern Boundary, to the super fast descent of
Green's Lick, this loop features the best that Bent Creek has to offer.
Starting at the
Rice Pinnacle Road parking lot, ride north towards
Northern Boundary. Follow
Northern Boundary past five points toward
Green's Lick on an easy doubletrack incline grade. Continue up to make your first super fast descent on
Green's Lick. Be careful coming down
Green's Lick as there are many jumps, doubles, and drops with multiple routes for multiple skills levels.
Green's Lick is arguably the best downhill available at Bent Creek so buckle up!
After wiping the muddy grin off of your face at the bottom of
Green's Lick, take a left and follow
Sidehill back up towards five points. This is a somewhat technical climb and people tend to come bombing down it as there is no assigned directionality to this trail, so be smart.
Sidehill will turn into
Little Hickory Top and dump you back out at five points.
From here, take a right onto
Ingles Field Gap to enjoy another one of Bent Creek's best downhills with a great rock garden to end it before you are spit out onto
Ledford Branch Road. From here, take a left on
Ledford Branch Road, heading back towards
Rice Pinnacle Road back to the
Rice Pinnacle Road parking lot.
