Need to Know

As the trail continues through downtown Lincolnton there is a staircase that takes you up to Main Street. From there you can visit a number of restaurants, cafes, and small shops in downtown Lincolnton.

Description

The southern end of Marcia H. Cloninger Rail Trail begins at Motz Avenue and travels north for 0.4 miles before a street crossing at West Congress Street and South Government Street. The trail then continues (with several underpasses and street crossings) through downtown Lincolnton and a residential area.

The trail travels past the old railroad depot at Pine and North Poplar streets. The trail ends near Liberty Street. Benches line the route, inviting you to pause and take in this enchanting town and trail.

Parking is available at the southern end of the trail across Motz Ave (513 Motz Ave, Lincolnton, NC 28092).
