Need to Know

Please yield to pedestrians and equestrians. This is the only equestrian park in Wichita, so please use caution around horses.

Description

To allow West Wichita families a place to get away from traffic and teach their kids to ride, the City of Wichita has opened a specific route to bicycles in the park. Bicycles are not allowed off the path in the rest of the park. Do not stray from the marked route or you risk a fine. The path surface is concrete, dirt, and chipped limestone, depending on where you are.

The main ride is a loop around the prairie area of Pawnee Prairie Park and the rest of the ride connects the surrounding neighborhoods to that loop. The loop is a chipped limestone surface and the section that follows in the tree row is a dirt road.
