Family Friendly Flowy singletrack through the woods along Comite River and Cypress Bayou.

Overview

The ride features the best mountain bike terrain you'll find in Baton Rouge with the exception of Hooper Road Park. Very flowy and fun!

Approximately five and a half miles of scenic beauty located at the Comite River Bike Trail, which runs along the banks of the Comite River and Cypress Bayou. The trail is hilly with some steep terrain. This park includes a picnic shelter, bicycle cleaning station, and restrooms.

Need to Know

The top of the climb at the landmark "Skidmark" is eroded and really difficult to climb at the moment.

Description

The trail starts off on relatively flat land to get your legs warmed up. Approximately a quarter mile in, if you continue past the "off BREC property" sign, you'll dip down along the Comite River where the terrain changes dramatically to hilly fun! This is one of my favorite sections of the trail.

Continue until you hit an intersection, where you need to take a left. You traverse along the river for quite some time until you reach "The Point" at 2.3 miles in. From here, you traverse the Cypress Bayou, where yet again water edge property makes for some interesting terrain changes.

At 4.3 miles in is the connector to Hooper Road Park on the left. It's known as Connection Trail. Continue right to complete the last mile of the Comite loop.

History & Background

This trail is a memorial dedicated to Kerry Stamey.

Great trail for ol' Louisiana. Trail conditions are a bit touch and go, but has some fun obstacles and a good couple drop-ins and a fun terrain park. 5.2mi

Really great trail. Hard to give a single rating as there's multiple trails with blue difficulty at circle back around to the main green trail.
