Family Friendly The trail has a mild grade, a ton of features, and is roughly 30 inches wide, there is also skills area at the trailhead which makes it a better family session spot!

Open year-round but please avoid right after a snow or heavy rain.

Need to Know

The Trailhead is at the southern end of the Switcher Loop off the second roundabout on Wilson Gulch Road.

Description

This trail is formed of two loops. The Switcher Loop (southern) is the easiest loop with the speed kept at bay that makes it perfect for the little ones or newer riders. The Rail Spikes Loop (northern) has some more demanding descents and a bit more extending climbing, though it's still relatively easy.

The trail opened in late 2017 in collaboration with Three Springs, Durango Trails 2000 and Purgatory Resort. This trail system is Durango's premier beginner friendly terrain. Until it's seasoned, some conditions may be loose, but the best way to fix this is to get out and ride it!
