During the rainy season, please allow significant time for the trail tread to dry out. Please visit the local IMBA chapter's website at wrcmba.com for updated trail conditions.
Description
This trail connects the lower trailhead off Whiskey Run Road (still in construction) to the intersection with Hollerback Trail and Well Shot. This clay-base singletrack trail travels through beautiful mossy forests of Doug Fir as it dips and winds down from Hollerback Trail starting off with some flowing switchbacks and berm turns. With enough speed you can easily jump or manual through the middle sections of clay rollers and grade reversals, but it's smooth enough to keep all wheels on the ground and roll casually through the bright green forest, which eventually meets up with an old logging road before reaching the paved Whiskey Run Road.
You can connect with Captain Blacklock at the trail's lower point. It is easy enough to climb back up from the road with the rolling climbs. While you're near the bottom, be sure to look for the "trail feature" which gave this trail its name.
