“A Rail Trail through the 1,206 acres of High Bridge State Park.”
— Adam Oldham
Family Friendly: The flat surface makes it good for kids.
The trail consists of hard-packed dirt/sand that's very smooth. This trail is seldom used outside of the Farmville to High Bridge section, which is a popular tourist attraction.
In the middle, the trail traverses the Farmville downtown area that has a lot of shops and restaurants (another tourist attraction). The High Bridge Trail gets its name from the bridge on the Appomattox River. The bridge itself is 2,400 feet long and about 160 feet high at the tallest point.
