Overview

This ride features some short steep climbs with three creek crossings all along some nice flowing singletrack. For extended mileage, this can be used to link up with the Orchard Loop through the Buckingham/Appomattox State Forest.

Need to Know

Use caution during hunting season.

Description

Marked with red metal blazes, this trail is good for beginner to intermediate riders. Pay close attention for the red metal blazes that mark the trail.

As of 04/29/16, look for the signs for detours due to tornado damage and downed trees. The trail is open with four creek crossings, take care to look before trying to ride them. The trail starts across the road from the main parking lot and to the right.

Also, look for the green triangle blazes that will take you for a seven-mile loop of mostly fire road and through a pine orchard. This loop is very beginner friendly.
