This trail can be accessed at the Red Rocks parking area just off Highway 67. Taking the trail in a counterclockwise direction seems to make better use of terrain features and allows for a fun descent near the middle of the ride.
The trail will initially follow a ridge line, then descend toward the road. About halfway through the loop, turn left onto singletrack near the fence. A gate allows you to access
The Centennial Trail #669; however, if you stay on the left side of the fence, you can complete the entire loop on singletrack. There are also a couple of small log ramps built up around fallen trees if you want a slight challenge just after the halfway point.
Otherwise, this is a fast, flowing, and generally non-technical loop that is great for beginner riders or folks warming up for the more robust
Mule Creek Trail.
This trail is frequented by hikers and folks out walking their dogs, so be on the lookout for pedestrians.
