The Stough Canyon Nature Center parking lot closes at 10 p.m. If you plan to stay on the mountain past that, park on the street by the golf course.

Description

Starting at the Stough Canyon Nature Center, the fire road zigs steeply up the side of the canyon. At the lower intersection with Old Youth Camp Trail (Scout Trail), the grade mellows a little and stays in the shade of the ridge in the afternoon, making for a very pleasant ascent to the Verdugo Motorway.
