Getting forecast...

A 2.5-mile flow trail that connects to Lichen It and Lava Flow.

Bob Havens

Overview

Chains or 4WD are necessary to reach the trailhead in the winter.
Features: -none-
Family Friendly: Great scenery good hiking and biking. Not too hot in the summer.

Description

From Highway Exit 57, drive 100 yards north on S Main, turn right on Old Highway 91 and drive 200 yards. Turn left on Greenslake Dr and continue for two miles until you reach the Greens Lake Trailhead (37.64, -113.06 / 690 Cedar Highlands Dr). Greenslake Dr becomes Cedar Highlands Dr when it becomes a gravel road.

There are only a couple of features on this trail. The fun begins when you hit Lava Flow. The trail was cut with a mini Dozer and the Kubota Track hoe, hence the width and the flow. There is about 75 feet of rock garden as you approach Lichen It. We worked hard on the berms to make this a flow trail.

The new trail that connects Green Hollow to the C Trail should be done in July. We need rain.

From what I have observed, most people ride up 'Lichen It', up and back on the 'New Trail' and finish off on 'Lava Flow' for a 9 - 10 mile ride. May 22, 2017

July 8, 2017 we had the ribbon cutting for the 'Highlands Trail' that connects this trail to the 'C Trail'. Starting at the 'C Overlook' the Highlands Trail allows for a 7.5 mile downhill ride via 'Lava Flow' or 'Lichen It' to the 'Southview TH'. Jul 9, 2017
