Description

The best place to park is in the Cumberland Falls State Park parking lot on the opposite side of the bridge. Ride across the KY 90 bridge, and the trailhead will be on the left immediately at the end of the bridge.

The trail follows the Cumberland River for approximately 5 miles. It crosses rock very similar to the infamous Slickrock Trail in Moab, UT. There are challenging areas, but not much elevation change. Do not make any turns until the trail dumps you out on a gravel road. It is all singletrack to that point. Turn right on the gravel road and climb up to the end of this section at KY 700.

If you don't like gravel or climbing, turn around at the gravel road and head back. You can retrace your path back to the parking lot or make a lollipop by finishing on the Blue Bend Loop. Approximately 3.5 mi back, there is a wooden kiosk. Go up the hill to ride Blue Bend Loop back to KY 90 bridge to make the lollipop. There is a very nice downhill at the end of Blue Blue Bend Loop.

Extremely technical trail along the river with some cool rock formations. There are a couple short areas that must be done on foot
