This trail starts and ends near TF-38 so it can be an easy loop high in the pine forest growing out of the black volcanic lava rock on the side of el Teide volcano. Alternatively, part of this trail forms a section of the awesome
Montañas Negras (Black Mountains) loop.
This trail won't challenge most riders (aside from perhaps the altitude), but it offers occasional views of the coast at breaks in the forest. The second part of the trail (from about 2 to 4.5 miles) follows the Canal de Vergara which is a water aqueduct.
Water is scarce on the island of Tenerife so there is a network of tanks and aqueducts across the island. The last mile from the Canal de Vergara aqueduct back to TF-38 does include some moderately steep climbing.
