This is one of the original trails in Deep Creek Lake State Park.

Overview

Family Friendly: As these trails also offer good hiking, there will be plenty of activity to be had for riders and non-riders alike.
Dogs: Leashed

Description

This is a doubletrack trail in Deep Creek Lake State Park. It's a very easy\intermediate trail with some uphill climbs and loose rocks. This trail intersects with Beckman's Trail (3 times) and the Indian Turnip Trail (3 times).

The State Park offers a newly created map of all of these trails at the headquarters or it can be downloaded online. Alternatively, you can use the MTB Project mobile app to track your location, as the multitude of intersections can make navigating the area a bit tricky.

Getting forecast...

Looking for an easy ride in/near Deep Creek lake, will have my 5 yr old on a small bike and my wife on a hybrid style bike. Was hoping to find a mostly flat or downhill ride (like a rail trail or double track). Can this trail be ridden in reverse (i.e. is there a place to park my truck where the red marker is on the map? If so, would this be largely downhill to the green marker in the park? Aug 8, 2017
This trail is not an " easy ride " regardless of direction. There are also some hill climbs. One option is to possibly ride the Fire Tower Road which is a unimproved two lane dirt road to the top of the State Park mountain. There is a brief steep climb in the beginning but then it levels of to a more gradual climb. This road is accessed down from the State Park. Aug 8, 2017
