Description

46N24 is a steep 4x4 road that is part of the Humbug OHV area in Klamath National Forest. The OHV area has a network of trails designed for ATV and dirt bike use but the area is open to the adventurous mountain biker. 46N24 is part of the backbone of the trail network with several trails branching off - 106, 104, 100, and 103, before it turns into Trail 101.

The trail/road surface is sandy, compact soil. The road surface can become highly eroded with deep ruts. The vegetation is pine forest to manzanita shrub in the higher elevations. There are amazing vistas of the surrounding mountains and hillsides from the top of the trail.

These are Off Highway Vehicle (OHV) Trails and are designed and managed as such, which does not always lead to the best biking. However, they are good fun for those looking for something new and who are in the mood for adventure. Be aware of other trail users, as they may not be looking for bikes - keep your ears open.

Have fun!
