Description

A great trail which is part of the Whiskey Off Road race course. When ridden in combination with the 9401J, this trail descends from 7000' through ponderosa pines and some gambrel oak and brush and back into pines where this trail 'tees' into Potts Creek Trail #327 and Trail #391 at 6315 feet.

Going northeast from the Sierra Prieta Overlook, the trail starts with a brief climb through scattered ponderosa pines with good views to the south and southeast. After 0.2 miles the downhill starts. There are a couple areas that will get you if you don't keep your speed in check, so go easy the first time down.

After 0.9 miles, you come to a "Y", stay right to head onto 9401J.

This trail can be part of a ride that comes up via Copper Basin or Thumb Butte Roads, or other trails. You can park at the Overlook (SW end of trail), but then you face the dilemma of how to get back up to the car. Better to start at the Thumb Butte parking area and make a loop out of it. Or do one of the Whiskey Off Road courses.

From the Overlook, ride trails 366, 9401J, 327, 323, 326, 393, 367 to replicate the Whiskey course.
