Description

Water Tank Trail is an alternative route down-to or up-from Laguna Beach as compared with Boat Road and Laguna Bowl Road. Starting from the back of a quiet Laguna Beach neighborhood, the trail is paved for a short bit but be thankful because the grade is extremely steep. After busting your legs and knees, the trail forks (stay right) and the dirt doubletrack begins. The pain, however, doesn't end.

After you get up the hill, Water Tank is easy to traverse the rest of the way up to Bommer Ridge Road. Take in the spectacular views of Laguna Beach to try and forget why you picked this way to climb up to Laguna Coast Wilderness Park.

Currently CLOSED due to dangerous trail conditions—not sure what that means but I know a lot of trails need work after the rains

What goes up most come down. Grueling uphill. Can only mean 1) I'm so out of shape or 2) this is some steep grade climbing or 3) both.
