Family Friendly Flat, smooth and easy to pedal.

The doubletrack gravel trails are open to all uses (hiking/biking) but are mainly used by equestrians. Please use extra caution when encountering equestrians. Yield right of way. Preferably stop and get off your bike and allow horses to pass. Keep good vocal communication with horseback riders as horses are passing by. This helps ensure the horses understand what you are (not a threat) so they do not become startled.

Description

The main outer loop is a wide (car width wide) graveled trail. Primarily used by equestrians, this loop is also open to hiking and biking. The trail is generally quite smooth and flat with a few small hills mid way down the peninsula. Horses are restricted only on the very southern portion of trail around the south picnic/campground area and around the west picnic/campground area.

It is possible to go quite fast on these trails and there are generally good sight lines, but please exercise caution around horses for everyone's safety.
