Description
Finding the trailhead for Little Creek Mesa is probably one of the more challenging ones around this area as it is not marked. Leave the parking area on the dirt jeep road head past the pond on the left and watch for some huge rock cairns on the right. This is the start of Little Creek Mesa trail system.
There are several options for rides out here. It is probably best to leave the beginner riders at home unless you're doing an out and back on
Magic Carpet.
The West Loop is a solid ride with lots of technical features and some great flowy singletrack. The views along the rim are stunning of the Pine Valley Mountains and Gooseberry Mesa across the valley. You can see the closed golf course below you being sucked back into the desert.
This trail is not for the faint of heart due to some of the technical moves required. Getting off to walk is always a safe option.
On your way back, you'll see the option for the
North Point Loop. Once you pass this intersection, watch for the rock cairns as it can be difficult to follow the trail at this point. Great slick rock riding with some pretty technical stuff thrown in.
