Family Friendly The short ride from the parking lot to the lookout is perfect for kids interested in mountain biking. Relatively flat rolling terrain with a quick reward at the lookout over Island Lake.

Overview

This has long been a popular stop in the winter for XC skiers. It is now a target location for a whole network of new MTB trails. County Line currently is being cleared and built by local riders who also XC ski the area in the winter.

Description

The terrain is flat overall, with short ups and downs as the trail rolls through the forest on top of Grand Mesa. It reminds me a lot of the trails I used to ride in Michigan, but with more rocks and fewer roots. A fun trail that is easy enough for beginners and kids to ride, but with enough room to get creative with your lines for more of a challenge.

This is a trail for those who want a scenic ride, especially in September. Pines, aspens, valleys, meadows, lava rock gardens, lakes, wildlife, cliff overlooks, it's all here.
