This trail begins in the parking lot just before Livingston Mill. The trail starts out flat and then you'll have a couple of steep pitches near the beginning. Once beyond the first steep pitches, the trail mellows out and climbs through a meadow. Once back in the trees, you'll switchback and climb along creeks and rivers and have some amazing views to the west.

After a long climb, you'll come to the first lake. This small lake is a great place to stop and take in the view. From the lake, the trail continues to switchback up the mountain until it reaches the high point at the pass. Once at the pass you'll descend on a much looser trail with some baby heads to watch out for before the trail reaches Frog Lake. Take a break at Frog Lake and enjoy your surroundings in the Whiteclouds.

The final descent on the trail will go from Frog Lake down to Little Boulder Creek, and this section is very rocky and technical.
