“Easy to Intermediate singletrack trail along the coastal flatlands of the Municipality of Ponce.”
— MTB Mojo
A singletrack trail that takes you right to the shore of the Caribbean Sea in Ponce. Mostly flat terrain over a variety of surfaces. The trail includes various obstacles as well as fun drops and a combination of sunny and shaded trail areas. Trail has received lots of care and maintenance recently. As implied by the trail name, there are lots of spiny shrubs in the area. Tubeless tires are highly recommended.
Dogs: No Dogs
This is a very enjoyable trail that has received lots of TLC and attention recently. The trail is well marked so it is easy to find your way around. It's not the most technical trail, as it is comprised of mostly flat terrain, but it offers plenty of sharp turns, drops, obstacles, bumps, and a variety of riding surfaces (hard pack, grassy, and sandy soils) that can be enjoyed by MTBers of all skill levels and interests.
This is a perfect route to practice and polish your technique. Thorns and spines are quite common, so come prepared for that. There are good views of the Caribbean Sea, keys, and mangrove channels and vegetation. Plenty of parking space is available near the trailhead by the entrance gate to the adjoining Ponce Wastewater Treatment Plant. Plenty of nearby restaurants and bars for a post-ride energy recharging session.
