This trail is a hiking trail that mountain bikes are allowed on. It's hardly maintained (if maintained at all) and proves a great cardio workout. This is probably one of the best places to train your XC skills in the area.
The trail features rocky uphills and downhills but isn't so rocky that it's un-rideable. Most of the trail is uphill, but there are some decently long downhill sections. Like most old school hiking trails on the East Coast, this hardly has any switchbacks.
If you enter through the rec. area, you need to pay to get in. I recommend starting from inside the rec area if it's your first time.
